Ruben Loftus-Cheek deploys secret weapon to win FIFA 16 Chelsea Player Tournament

Cesar Azpilicueta has failed to defend his title as Champion of FIFA in this year's edition of the Chelsea FC Player Tournament. Last year, for FIFA 15, he and partner Loïc Rémy beat Team Schürrle-Aké in the best-of-three final on penalty kicks. No such luck this year, as two people who seem far too tall to comfortably play video games vanquished Azpilicueta and new partner Kurt Zouma in the final. (Happy Zouma! Which actually just had the effect of making me sad all over again about his injury.)

In any case, congrats to Thibaut Courtois and Ruben Loftus-Cheek for winning this year's edition of the Players Tournament. Previous winners include the aforementioned Team Azpilicueta-Rémy (FIFA 15), Jamal Blackman (FIFA 13), and Romelu Lukaku (FIFA 12). Not sure what happened with FIFA 14, but Cesc Fàbregas almost won it back at Barcelona (with Piqué as his partner).

With both teams controlling Chelsea in this year's final, the difference came down to one Secret Weapon, the man billed (by himself!) as a super-sub at the start, Ruben Loftus-Cheek! Here's one instance where we can hope that life will indeed imitate art in the near future.
