|1. THIBAUT COURTOIS - GK||8.2|
Man of the Match for the second straight game. Goalkeeping duel with David de Gea for the second straight match against Manchester United.
Both goalkeepers were beaten once each and made 11 saves combined, each better than the last. I suppose De Gea had the last laugh with tremendous saves against Branislav Ivanovic and Diego Costa in the final 15 minutes, but Courtois came up big when called up as well and was only beaten by a rather good Jesse Lingard spin and volley.
|2. DIEGO COSTA - FC||8.0|
Diego Costa was an outstretched hand away from being a two-goal, match-winning hero in his first-ever match against Manchester United as a Chelsea player. But David de Gea was annoyingly good, so Costa was only a one-goal, match-tying hero. Hero!
So that's 7 goals in 9 games for Diego. He (alongside Cesc Fabregas, to a certain extent) seems to be the one major, palpable difference-maker since the managerial change. Whatever the future holds, it's nice to see Costa back at some of his best.
|3. JOHN TERRY - DC||7.2|
The long goodbye to John Terry continues with a second straight third place finish.
I suspect this will be bit of trend for the rest of the season.
Special shout out to Kurt Zouma, who finishes his season as easily the highest rated center back (and on par with Azpilicueta as the highest rated defender) for the season. Get well soon, Happy!
Courtois (8.2), Azpilicueta (6.6), Terry (7.2), Zouma (7.2), Ivanović (6.1), Matić (5.9), Mikel (6.4), Oscar (5.7), Fàbregas (6.8), Willian (6.5), Costa (8.2)
Cahill (6.0), Hazard (6.6), Pedro (5.4)
