After Sunday's hilarious little exercise against a depleted Manchester City team — incidentally, the ones most responsible for their defeat were some of Pellegrini's most veteran players, including Martin Demichelis and Willy Caballero — Chelsea are into the quarterfinals of the FA Cup for the first time in four seasons, since reaching the semifinals in 2012-13.
With City now out of this year's tournament and Spurs losing quite surprisingly to Crystal Palace earlier in the day, the list of realistic winners is down to just a few. And two of those still have to play for their spot in the 6th round. Despite that, unfortunately, we won't have an easy route into the semifinals, getting drawn away to Everton. That could've gone better.
Here's the quarterfinal draw, in full:
Reading vs. Crystal Palace
Everton vs. CHELSEA
Arsenal OR Hull City vs. WatfordStrawberry Shrewsbury Town OR Manchester United vs. West Ham United
Matches will be played over the weekend of March 12th, with the exact schedule to be decided when the TV companies get around to it.
