Conte to bring highly rated midfielder from Serie A with him to Chelsea — report

Did you think this was Paul Pogba?  I know I was hoping that it was.  But, we already had that rumor last week.  Pay attention!

Instead, soon to be definitely confirmed maybe front runner but certainly on shortlist of candidates possibly for the Chelsea job Antonio Conte will apparently target AS Roma's Radja Nainggolan as his first signing for the Blues.  So claims Gianluca Di Marzio and he's never wrong on days that end in 'y'.  Though, like all transfer rumor-mongers, he can sometimes be wrong on days that end in 'y'.  So, yeah...

The story goes that apparently Conte has been an admirer of the eyesoreingly haired Belgian since his days as Juventus manager and with the backing of Chelsea's millions, will launch a strong offensive to get the soon to be 28-year-old to come to London.  Nainggolan had also been tentatively linked with Chelsea a couple years back, for what it's worth, but we ended up signing Nemanja Matic instead.  Not a bad choice at the time.

In any case, last week it was Pogba, this week it's Nainggolan ... either one sounds good to be at this point, though obviously I'd prefer the former, regardless of cost.  Still, at least we're being linked with useful transfer targets.  (And I guess we're assuming that Conte's the man.)
