Defender Papy Djilobodji didn't have a memorable spell at Chelsea, but he's certainly enjoying a good start at Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, which he joined on loan last month. In Germany, there's already been talks about the club extending their deal with the player for the next season, and Bremen's CEO Thomas Eichin confirmed that the club would be 'in the mix' to host Djilobodji for an entire season if Chelsea wants him to get more playing time.
"If Chelsea want to sell him, we'd be without a chance, but should they want to get him more playing time first, we'd be in the mix."

In his last performance for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, Djilobodji scored his side's sole goal in a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim. With the club standing at 16th in the league table, in a position to dispute a relegation play-off by the end of the season, the player said that his priority is to get Bremen to stay in the Bundesliga.
"I was pleased, but the next time I score I also want to win. My goal is to help Werder stay in the Bundesliga through my performances. We'll see about the rest after that."

It's highly unlikely that Chelsea will be willing to keep Djilobodji at Werder Bremen if the club don't manage to save themselves from relegation, especially if he keeps up with his good performances on a consistent basis. His chances of making a comeback at Chelsea are also slim, but we might be able to get a good deal out of him with a potential transfer next summer if he retains this sort of form.
