Earlier on Monday, news went around that John Terry was in training and hoping to be fit for this week's Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain. In a season riddled with bad news, it was pretty obvious what would happen next:

When Terry left the field against Newcastle United last Saturday, Guus Hiddink shifted into a back four of Baba Rahman, Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta, and I think we'll have to assume that that will be the default for Paris as well. With Kurt Zouma lost for the season, there are no other senior defenders available, and although both Matt Miazga and Jake Clarke-Salter have travelled with the squad it would stretch the imagination to have either of them making their senior debut in a Champions League knockout match against the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Oh, and to make things even better, Nemanja Matic is suspended, so the centre backs won't have much of a dual screen ahead of them.
Let's hope we get through Tuesday's game without any more injuries or things might get really ugly.
