Remember Wallace?
Back in December 2012, Chelsea announced the acquisition of the young Brazilian right back from Fluminense, taking advantage of a priority clause established with the Brazilian side at the time of Deco's transfer a few years prior.
However, the once impressive attacking full back wasn't able to reproduce his performances from the Brazilian league during the two-and-a-half years he spent on loan at Inter Milan, Vitesse and Carpi from 2013 to 2015. So he tried something different this year, returning to Brazil on an 18-month loan move to Grêmio in January and...
...drumroll please...
...yet again, things didn't quite pan out for the 22-year-old. With only 22 unimpressive appearances made for the Brazilian Cup-winners throughout the year, the player has been released from the club in the Brazilian off-season, six months before the end of his loan contract as confirmed by Grêmio's president Romildo Bolzan Junior.
Wallace contract with the Blues lasts until June 2019. Wherever he goes next will be a good trivia question in the future.
