Pedro can’t think of a more dominant team he’s ever played on than this Chelsea

As Chelsea sit atop the Premier League on the back of an eleven-game winning streak, it's difficult not to accept the tag of 'title favourites'. There's still 21 games left in the season and competition for the top four positions will no doubt remain though, but this Chelsea team have yet to show any signs of slowing down on their pace. In fact, Chelsea’s run is even new for former Barcelona man Pedro, who certainly knows a thing or two about playing on dominant teams.

"I definitely haven’t been on a run like this here at Chelsea and I can’t think of one in my career that’s been this long. Last year, we didn’t manage to win games on the bounce, so let’s hope we can keep this going."

The keyword from day one has been work. Work, work, work, and more work. Pedro unsurprisingly credits work for all the games we’ve won.

"It’s the daily work we put in during training that is helping to bring the best form from us and we’ve grown in confidence, both mentally and physically. That’s why we have won so many games in a row."

"We train hard, both tactically and physically, but we do a lot of ball work as well, work on bringing the ball out. I think that’s enabling us to get better and also work better as a team."

"We feel strong because we’re all in a good vein of form at the moment. It helps when players can come in, such as Cesc Fàbregas, Willian or Nathaniel Chalobah. It’s great because we all have the same objective, we all want to win game."

Since switching to the 3-4-3 system in the second half of the embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, Chelsea have scored 25 goals and conceded just 2. But recent results have not been nearly as dominant as the initial returns — such as the 5-0 trouncing of Everton in November — as the rest of the league adjusts and starts to figure things out. For Pedro, that just adds to the challenge.

"What’s interesting is that other teams are now using that system as well and they’re adapting to the way we’re playing and changing their system accordingly. The new challenge for us is to keep overcoming that."
