Chelsea players and staff spread Christmas cheer at local hospital and Stamford Bridge

Giving back to the community.

Several Chelsea players spent their Wednesday afternoon visiting children at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. After a morning training session, the squad took the time to spread a little Christmas cheer with the kids unfortunate enough to have to spend their holidays in the hospital.

A huge thank you to Chelsea Football Club who brought some Christmas Cheer to our children’s ward today!

The whole squad looked to be on hand to sign autographs and hand out presents during the day. If you look closely, you’ll even spot Kenedy (back from on loan at Watford) as well as a dapper Antonio Conte.

This is an annual, important tradition for the club,

“Each year we come and it is important for us as players to do this and to see the kids.”

“I am a parent myself and I know how special this time is. Christmas is normally a very happy time but for these kids and their families it is very difficult so it is nice for us to come here, give them presents and to spend time with them. It is also nice for us to be able to do this and to make people’s day nicer.”

Later in the day, the team gathered back at Stamford Bridge for the Bridge Kids Christmas Party. The whole event featured fun times with the team, games, pet exhibits, and even ice sculptures.

It’s great to see Chelsea put such emphasis on giving back to the kids during the holiday season.
