Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah trains with England seniors, scores wondergoal

Nathaniel Chalobah has gone two games without an appearance and the fact that this seems worthy of note is perhaps hope that Chelsea might just succeed in integrating a few homegrown youths before the heat death of the universe.  Chalobah had made appearances in four straight games (and five out of six) to generally favorable reviews and he's currently with the England U21 squad ahead of their games against Italy and France.

Actually, that's not entirely true.  Chalobah was in fact training with the senior squad on Tuesday, alongside fellow U21 stars Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse.  With several of the senior squad nursing injuries, there was plenty of opportunity for the three youngsters to make an impression, and Chalobah wasted no time in producing one of his long-range specials.

Love that spin away from the keeper into the top corner.  Unstoppable.

Chalobah, you might recall, almost scored another wonder strike for Chelsea in the League Cup match against West Ham a couple weeks ago.  (And of course he once scored that amazing goal for Watford while on loan there.)

England will play Scotland on Friday in World Cup qualifying, then take on Spain in a friendly on Tuesday.  Gary Cahill is the only Chelsea representative in the senior squad.
