Michy Batshuayi puts the finishing touch on a weekend full of amazing Chelsea performances

Never go full SpongeBob. Unless you’re Michy.

If you thought this weekend couldn’t get any more amazing, Michy Batshuayi is here to prove you wrong.

We’ve known about Batshuayi’s obsession with SpongeBob even before he started showing up on matchdays sporting a SpongeBob backpack — perhaps the most amazing thing about the Spongebob underpants to which I’m referring is that they make them in fully grown adult-size as well — but this, this takes things to a whole new level.

Almost as good as the tweet was the fact that Chelsea-official even responded to it.

Wow, indeed.

Alicia Keys posted the picture of herself in the SpongeBob pajamas (pyjamas, if you like) last year, but apparently her new album is so good, it inspired Michy to bust out his own set. As if he’d need an excuse.

Batshuayi has found it hard to displace Diego Costa, the Premier League’s leading goalscorer, as the first-choice Chelsea striker, but he did make his eighth substitute appearance on Saturday, and he got the best hug ever from Eden Hazard. All in all, not a bad way to spend the weekend.

Never change, Michy, never change.
