Chelsea players on international duty: Who, when, how to watch Friday

New, comments

Club teammates face off, plus a couple loanees in action in the African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.  Here's what to watch for in senior international action today, Friday, October 7, 2016.

GHANA vs. Uganda (World Cup 2018 qualifying)

When:  16:30 BST; 11:30am EDT
Where:  Tamale Sports Stadium, Tamale, Ghana
Who:  Christian Atsu (46), Baba Rahman (22)
How:  beIN Sports Connect (USA); elsewhere

The third round of the CAF qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup begin with this game with group favorites Ghana looking to get off to a good start against lowly Uganda.  Only the group winners of each of the five qualifying groups advance to the final tournament in Russia.

BELGIUM vs. BOSNIA and HERZEGOVINA (World Cup 2018 qualifying)

When:  19:45 BST; 2:45pm EDT
Where:  Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussels, Belgium
Who:  Eden Hazard (72), Thibaut Courtois (44), Michy Batshuayi (8) vs. Asmir Begović (51)
How:  Sky Sports 5 (UK); Fox Soccer 2Go (USA); elsewhere

The two favorites in Group H meet in this Chelsea goalkeeper derby, with both teams winning their first games of the group last month.

FRANCE vs. Bulgaria (World Cup 2018 qualifying)

When:  19:45 BST; 2:45pm EDT
Where:  Stade de France, Paris, France
Who:  N'Golo Kanté (10)
How:  Sky Sports 4 (UK); ESPN3 (USA); elsewhere

France will want to do better than their disappointing 0-0 draw against Belarus on matchday 1.  Considering that Bulgaria barely squeaked by Luxembourg, 4-3, there really should only be one winner here.  N'Golo Kanté got an extra day's rest earlier this week; hopefully he doesn't play if there's any doubt over his fitness (it's not like he would be needed, not against Bulgaria, one would think).
