One of Chelsea's bigger "Loan Army" success stories has been attacking midfielder John Swift. First arriving at Championship club Brentford in October as emergency help during an injury crisis, the 20-year-old quickly showed his abilities and found his one-month stay extended until January.
Now Swift will be extending his loan deal yet again, this time all the way until the end of the season.
"John has developed a lot as a player in his time with Brentford. He is someone I knew about when he was playing in League One last year and he has improved since then. He also has lots of scope to develop further. It is great to have him as part of the squad for the rest of the season."

Even as other players returned from their injuries (which now also includes former Chelsea hopeful Josh McEachran), Swift has kept his starting spot in the Bees' midfield. Hopefully that will continue in the second half of the season as Swift continues his excellent development.
