Chelsea accept Leicester City's club record bid for striker -- report

Clive Mason/Getty Images

We had just finished talking about how Guus Hiddink sounded quite vague and cryptic about Loic Remy's Chelsea future, when a few tweets from a certain Ben Jacobs, a man with some inside access apparently confirmed our suspicions.

Leicester's interest isn't wholly new, though I didn't think much of it considering that they seem to be set in the striking department with Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki and Leonardo Ulloa.  There were some stories that Chelsea were looking to swap Remy & plenty of cash for Vardy, but surely that's a whole lot of nonsense.  Instead, it looks like Leicester are making an all-cash offer for the Chelsea backup, the rumored price actually exceeding the release clause we paid to QPR 18 months ago (£10.5m).

I'm sure we'll have further confirmation as to the validity of this rumor, but it does fit with the way the Remy story has been developing over the past few weeks.  Stay tuned...
