Water's a huge issue around these parts, mostly because of the recent historic droughts, but here's a very good article over at The Verge about the damming of the mini-Yosemite Valley back in the mid 1930s, a great engineering achievement, to provide fresh drinking water for The Bay and how it continues to be a source of controversy to this day.
