Bertrand Traoré arrived at Stamford Bridge this year with hopes of getting a chance to establish himself as a Chelsea first-team player following a great Vitesse loan spell. But Traoré hasn't had much luck in that regard. He might be on his way back to the Eredivisie according to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, who are reporting that Ajax still want Traoré on loan.
After Guus Hiddink's arrival and evaluation of the current Chelsea squad, it is not known whether the manager intends to keep Traoré at the club since he only voiced his wish to keep Kenedy and Ruben Loftus-Cheek until the end of the current season. Since Traoré's status is still up in the air as far as we know, Ajax might actually have a chance to get the player.
Sending Traoré back to the Netherlands wouldn't be a bad move, with one Chelsea staff member hoping for the player to return to the Eredivisie this season. It remains to be seen whether Hiddink wants Traoré sticking around at the club until May, or if his chances to play a part in our first-team haven't improved from the beginning of the current season.
