2016. Welcome to the future.
London lit up blue as fireworks burst from big wheel. Time for resolutions. A fresh start.
It's been a weird year, 2015.
Extreme highs. Extreme lows. Premier League title. Relegation zone flirting. League Cup crown. Champions League failure against 10 men. 18-match unbeaten run. Worst league start in 30-some years. Champagne football. Crumbling fortress Stamford Bridge. Dreams of 10-year dynasties. Realities of modern day football. Plans for a brand new stadium. Searching for a brand new manager. A time for reflection. A time to look forward.
Good riddance, 2015.
Hello, 2016.
Hello, better days. Hello, better results. Hello, FA Cup. Hello, Champions League knockout rounds. Hello, mid-table. Yes, hello, mid-table glory. Hello, goals. Hello, clean sheets. Hello, happiness. Hello, transfer window. Hello, transfer rumors of all shapes and sizes.
Hello, football.
This year started on a ridiculous note, a 5-3 loss to Spurs at White Hart Lane on January 1, 2015, and it ends amid even greater crisis. It reached the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Mourinho's gone. Time to rebuild. What the next 12 months will bring is anyone's guess. But the one constant, the one thing that will continue to unite us all is Chelsea Football Club. So here's to you and yours and everything nice in this world.
