Chelsea's loan army is up to an incredible 33 players this fall, but one notable absence from this list is Belgian Charly Musonda Jr. Musonda was widely expected to head abroad for the season, with Monaco often being mentioned in connection with the youngster.
When the transfer window shut, however, Musonda remained with the Blues. According to John Chapman, the player is fine with that decision, and expects to see a bit of time with the first team.
Musonda tells La DH he's happy to stay at Chelsea (no loan) after talking to Mourhino. He feels he'll get a bit of time in 1st team. #cfc

I can't imagine Musonda will get all that much time at Chelsea, likely a cameo here and there in the League Cup, and possibly during the latter portion of the Champions League group stage. Eden Hazard seems to feel that way as well, and was pushing his compatriot to join his former club, Lille.
Regardless, Musonda will most likely start the season training with the first team, even if minutes are tough to come by. Hopefully he impresses, along with Bertrand Traore, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Kenedy, and sees some time in the less crucial matches going forward.
