Thirty-two teams have been whittled down to sixteen as the Capital One Cup moves into the fourth round.
Only three non-Premier League teams remain for sure, all from the Championship: Hull City, Middlesbrough, and Sheffield Wednesday. There's a small chance that we'll have a League Two side in the next round as well, as Liverpool still haven't put away lowly Carlisle United at Anfield. They're in extra time, heading towards penalty kicks. Incidentally, Sheffield Wednesday ousted our next league opponents Newcastle.
Wasting no time, the draw for the fourth round has already been made. Here are the results, in full:
Manchester City vs. Crystal Palace
Liverpool or Carlisle United vs. AFC Bournemouth
Manchester United vs. Middlesbrough
Everton vs. Norwich City
Southampton vs. Aston Villa
Sheffield Wednesday vs. Arsenal
Hull City vs. Leicester City
Stoke City vs. CHELSEA
Stoke City away isn't exactly the best draw, but we avoided all the big boys, which is nice. The matches will take place the week of October 26, with a couple chosen for TV cameras, too. We should know the exactly schedule in the next few days.
