It's always exciting to see a new signing make his debut for the club. On Wednesday night it was Baba Rahman's turn. The 21-year-old got the start against Maccabi Tel Aviv in Chelsea's first group stage match in the Champions League. The youngster played the full 90 minutes in the club's 4-0 triumph.
Baba spoke with the official club website after his debut and expressed his jubilation at getting his chance.
'It was great,' he said. ‘The supporters and the stadium were very nice.
‘The team played good and the most important thing was the win and that's what we did. I think I can adapt more but I leave it up to the coach to judge my performance.
‘I'm very happy to be here,' he continued. ‘If I push hard I can make it and enjoy myself here. My main aim is to play as many games as I can. I'm really working hard to keep the momentum going.
‘Last year Chelsea won the Premier League and I'm itching for us to win it again, and also do well in the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Capital One Cup. We want to win as many trophies as we can.'

For the left back, it could be difficult to break into the starting eleven with Cesar Azpilicueta in front of him, though Branislav Ivanovic's recent struggles (and a contract expiring at the end of the season) could open the door sooner rather than later. It will be cup nights like these where Baba will have to take advantage of the opportunities to showcase his talents and force Mourinho's hand. At such a young age and to already be playing on this big of a stage, the sky is the limit for Baba.
