Chelsea vs. Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Champions League: Half-time report

Crazy people.

It's been almost all Chelsea, yet, it's only 2-0, thanks to some silly play in the final third (just two shots on target!) and a rather badly shanked penalty kick from Eden Hazard.  Should the goalkeeper have been sent off for the foul on Willian there?  Probably.  Should he have gotten his second yellow for a foul on Loftus-Cheek later?  Probably.  But he wasn't and then he didn't, so it's still 11-v-11.

Willian made up for Hazard's miss by curling in a free kick that left the young Maccabi goalkeeper stranded.  But then Willian limped off with an apparent knock, after which our high tempo play and press dropped a bit.  Injuries sure keep coming at a steady clip this season.  Hazard still seems out of tune and Remy's not quite the force that Willian can be on the right.  On the plus side, Loftus-Cheek has done alright and our fullbacks are working well enough.

And in the dying moments of the half, ex-Chelsea man Tal Ben Haim I gave away a penalty as well (he's been terrible), which Oscar converted with ease.  Two-nil to the good guys!

Still need more goals, while watching out for potential counter-attacks.  Come on, Chelsea!
