Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says the darndest things. Here's another one to add to the collection, and this one may yet top the infamous "who needs Makelele, all he does is pass sideways and backwards" quote.
"We have an incredible team and a great coach. Benitez is the best we've ever had."
"Jose Mourinho may have helped us improve, which was what was needed at the time, and he got us into the Champions League quarter-finals, something we had previously struggled to do. But I certainly have no intention of bringing him back."

Never mind the backhanded compliment given to Mourinho -- as if Jose would ever want to go back there anyway -- did Perez really just claim Benitez was the best ever? He's been in charge for TWO games! And he still failed to win one of those. In his two tenures as Real Madrid president, Perez has worked with quite a few coaches. Certainly, there have been some duds. But he's also worked with Vicente Del Bosque, Manuel Pellegrini, Jose Mourinho, and Carlo Ancelotti. But those guys, all of them, they are all chumps. VIVA LA RAFALUCION!
Though I guess we can stop worrying about Mourinho leaving us for Madrid. Well, there's a load off my mind!
