El Hadji Mison "Papy" Djilobodji is not from Djibouti.  (He's from Senegal.)  He's not Brice Dja Djedje.  (Neither is he Brice's brother Franck.)  Hopefully he's better than Eric Djemba-Djemba.  (Some of his highlights are quite djuicy.)  Papy Djilobodji has officially djoined Chelsea this morning.  He's certainly no Djohn Stones.

That said, for a cut-rate deal at a reported fee of around £3m, maybe less (the massive defender's contract was set to expire next summer), for someone coming in as a fourth choice center back, in a spot where the likes of Kalas, Omeruo, or Christensen would stagnate, it's hardly anything to get too upset about.  The fact that we only signed him for four years — at 26, he's ostensibly in or near his prime — should indicate that we're not exactly counting on him to be the center piece of our next decade of dominance.  I mean, it's great if he turns out to be a hidden and underrated gem, but it's also ok if he just turns out to be another Khalid Boulahrouz or Tal Ben Haim.

Welcome, Papy.  Maybe you'll get to play with Happy.
