Here we go again. Here we go still. Let the Diego Costa hamstring sweepstakes begin anew. Let the Diego Costa hamstring roller-coaster trundle on.
"Diego Costa has not given up hope of handing Chelsea a Premier League opening-day fitness boost."
"Costa, though, is currently more optimistic [than Mourinho] and believes he can be ready to play if he comes through Friday's training without feeling any pain."
The Telegraph cite no sources, so they're either working from inside information or they're just drawing a potential conclusion from Mourinho's post-Fiorentina comments, which revealed that while Costa trained before the Community Shield, he was eventually not selected because he was "not comfortable." Presumably, if Costa trains on Friday and is feeling not "not comfortable," he would get the nod over the good-but-out-of-form Remy and the motivated-but-not-good Falcao.
With Mourinho already in a self-imposed radio silence about Costa's injury, we shall have to wait until the 2015-16 kicks off to find out who starts up top against Swansea. Fortunately (or unfortunately), that's only about 36 hours away...
