Official: Chelsea, Roma agree Mohamed Salah loan

WAGNH's 2015/16 Season Preview

While I doubt this is the last of the drama surrounding Mohamed Salah's summer adventures, at least we'll know where exactly he'll be spending the next 12 months (and possibly beyond):

Chelsea Football Club has agreed terms with AS Roma for the season-long loan of Mohamed Salah. The winger will spend the 2015/16 campaign on loan at the Stadio Olimpico and the agreement includes an option to purchase at any point during the season.

Neither Chelsea nor Roma have specified whether that purchase option becomes mandatory in the summer (as previous rumors suggested), or if Salah would return to Stamford Bridge should Roma choose not the exercise the buy.  So maybe we'll get to repeat all this drama next summer, too.  Fun!

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the loan fee is a cool €5m, while the purchase price would be another €15m on top of that.  That would total about £14m in today's money, which is £3m more than what we gave Basel in January of last year.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina are presumably still stewing and could still pursue legal action despite the player's transfer to Roma getting finalized.  I sure hope for everyone's sake that Salah justifies all this drama and nonsense going forward this season.
