And so the extended* transfer deadline day madness begins with this random link between Chelsea and FC Nantes for their Senegalese center back Papy Djilobodji.
Talks ongoing betweeen @ChelseaFC and @FCNantes for #Djiolobodji, defender. #CFC

Not exactly the most inspiring start to the proceedings, though Djilobodji was one of the key reasons Nantes managed to stay up in Ligue 1 after their promotion in 2014 despite only scoring 29 goals in 38 matches.
The tall (6'4"), supposedly skillful-enough 26-year-old had been linked with Arsenal last summer, Sunderland this summer, while Chelsea had been tentatively mentioned a few times in the past as well. Earlier this summer Celtic were supposedly looking at him, but were priced out at just £5m (his contract is set to expire next summer).
Best of all, he's got a tribute pop song. Every superhero needs his own theme music! Do the Djilobodji!
* It's extended because the transfer window in most of Europe closes today (6pm in Germany; 11pm in Italy; midnight in France, Spain) but only closes tomorrow in England (6pm to be exact). The transfer window determines when new players can be registered, so theoretically, English clubs could still buy players tomorrow, but teams on the continent cannot.
