The Daily Pogba: Chelsea continue to ready £73m bid, but Juve continue to be busy elsewhere

Many-eth verse same as the first.  And the second.  And the third.  And...

Judging by the news out there, Juventus couldn't possibly care less that Chelsea might be offering all the gold in our Fort Knox (or whatever Roman's equivalent of that may be) for the midfield wonder know as Paul Pogba.  Whether everything's just being kept off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush or not even the rumor-hungry media can sniff out some fresh developments remains to be seen.* It's probably the latter, but there are still a few days to go for someone to work a minor miracle.

* How many times can the tabloids re-spin some story about Chelsea "readying" a £70-73m bid?  Quite a few, it would seem.  Just do it already!

As we learned yesterday, Juve are mostly busy trying to sign a midfielder, be that either a trequartista or more of a box-to-box type — apparently this is an either-or proposition rather than a why-not-both, which does strike me as a bit odd ... which one do Juve actually need at this point?  There's supposed progress on the Witsel end of things, with Zenit lowering their demands to a rather reasonable €25m.  In fact, that's so reasonable, it might benefit us to jump on that instead of wasting time on the ungettable Pog...

So while most claim that Witsel is in no way a Pogba replacement, the timing does seem coincidental enough for me to continue to believe that there's at least a little chance that two might be related.  If Juve needed another midfielder like Witsel, to replace, say, Arturo Vidal, why were they, a) pursuing purely creative types like Draxler (for whom they just upped their bid, too, apparently), and b) procrastinating so long?  (The latter is a rhetorical question, given Chelsea's methods of madness this summer.)

But, enough chit-chat.  Let's see some action.  Fuel the choppers.
Get the £73m ready!  Do we need extra suitcases to carry that cash?  We better not be short on [funning] suitcases!
£300k per-week? Go for it.  Do it.  DOOO EEET.  DOOOOOO...
