Half my heart is broken. The other is filled with joy.

In the official announcement, it's also told that Kenedy has been assigned with the #16 jersey, famous for adorning the backs of legends and heroes like Roberto Di Matteo, Arjen Robben, and (cult hero) Raul Meireles. It was last held by Marco van Ginkel before his loan moves to AC Milan and, now, Stoke City.
A pacy and strong player, Robert Kenedy Nunes do Nascimento is a 19-year-old Brazilian youngster who has been playing at the professional level since 2013 for his previous team in the Brazilian League. He's a natural right-winger with a powerful left foot, and you can read more about his skills, pros and cons in this scouting report. He made an excellent first impression while still technically on trial during preseason.
This news is probably also further confirmation that Chelsea successfully arranged Kenedy's work permit, as we predicted earlier this month. It also leaves the club with eight options for the wings, but it looks like at least one of them will be leaving the club -- perhaps Kenedy himself on a loan deal.
