Today Chelsea officially announced the signing of Pedro from Barcelona. One of the first additions to the squad all summer after weeks of waiting. In Pedro, the club is getting an all-around great attacking player. He's able to play a multitude of positions including both wings, as an attacking midfielder, and as a striker in a pinch.
For years it seemed like he was always the utility man of the Barcelona attack. Never good enough to take the spot of the likes of David Villa or Neymar, but always important enough to keep around.
Pedro scored 73 total goals for Barca in 259 appearances. Not too shabby at all for a player who predominantly played as a winger and had to share the field with Messi, Henry, Ibra, etc. The video above highlights some of the best goals of his career so far.
He's able to score from a variety of situations on the pitch and is always a threat to the opposing team with his movement and creativity.
His goalscoring prowess is only one facet of his game that will benefit the Blues. His playmaking ability flies under the radar. A total of 41 assists in his Barca career proves that he's willing to play a supporting role if needed.
Pedro will never be considered a superstar, but he's the consummate team player and should be a great addition to the Chelsea squad.
