Oscar will be on the FIFA 16 cover for Brazil

In each region of the world EA Sports has one of the top players from nearby countries as a featured athlete on the cover of their FIFA video game. The FIFA series is a wildly popular franchise that is consistently among the best selling games each year.

This year in Brazil, Chelsea's midfield maestro Oscar has been granted the honor of having his picture printed on the popular game's cover.

EA Sports FIFA Brazil's Facebook page announced the news today.

It should make for an interesting photo since Argentina's Lionel Messi is the global coverstar for the franchise and the two nations are bitter rivals.

Oscar beat out the likes of Neymar, Coutinho, and Thiago Silva for Brazil's cover man. In addition to to making the cover, he was also named as EA Sports Brazil's ambassador, so you can expect to see him involved with much more FIFA 16 content.

EA Sports FIFA 16 will release in September and will be available for XBOX 360, PS3, XBOX ONE, PS4, and PC.
