Polish playmaker signs first professional deal with Chelsea

Chelsea continues to make strides in reinforcing their young squad of future players. Next on the line is Polish attacking midfielder Hubert Adamczyk, who 's just signed his first professional contract with Chelsea.

Adamczyk joined the club at 17 years old from Polish club Zawisza Bydgoszcz, from a fee believed to be around £672,000 in June last year. A Polish youth international, the player has made 9 appearances for Chelsea's U18 side and one for Chelsea's U21 side, scoring 2 goals. He's been training with the senior squad on several occasions since February this year, as reported by Polish website Onet.pl.

According to Chelsea's official site, Adamczyk is primarily a number 10, being able to play also on the wings. His highlight video can attest his abilities.

Highlight videos aren't the best tool to make scouting reports on, but the tape shows him making most of his plays on the flanks rather than centrally, which might indicate that he was given a "free role" by whoever coached him on those Poland matches -- something you won't do unless you're confident enough on the player's skills. It looks like he's a good passer, from short and long range, with some good dribbling skills but he isn't a player to approach the box as much, say, Oscar.

Chelsea signing him on a professional contract shows confidence in his potential. If he ever replicates those dominant performances at youth level as a pro, we have a bright player on our hands.
