According to a report in Wednesday's Daily Mail, Chelsea have made a second bid for Everton center back John Stones, which Everton have rejected as well. Here's what the paper had to say about the latest developments:

Everton have rejected Chelsea's latest £25 million bid for John Stones.

The England defender was informed of the offer being turned down on Tuesday prior to playing in Everton's friendly 2-0 win over Dundee. Stones remains relaxed about the situation although it is understood he is interested in the move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will now consider whether to make another bid.

Jose Mourinho confirmed the initial bid for Stones, which made Everton manager Roberto Martinez just a wee bit cranky. It will be interesting to see what Mourinho has to say this time, as he's been in an trollish mood of late and the media definitely know it.

Also interesting is the Mail's assertion that Stones would be interested in the move, as that's something that we're starting to see more of in the papers. It seems somewhat likely that Bob's worst fears have been realized, and that the 21-year-old's head has been turned by Chelsea's confirmed interest. If that is true, and Stones' agent is leaking things to the media, I'd be surprised to see this story go away at any point in the near future.
