Filipe Luis says goodbye and thanks Chelsea for a year 'playing and living as a blue'

Filipe Luis has left Chelsea before he could truly make his mark, but the one thing that has stuck with me ever since his arrival was his first interview with Chelsea TV. It's the most perfect first interview still.

Unsurprisingly, he's given an excellent "exit interview" as well, including this official video from his PR representatives. I think this might be a first, a player saying goodbye to the club with a highlights video.

Of course, there are words as well.

Hi! I would like to announce that I have signed a contract with Atlético de Madrid. I really want to thank Chelsea Football Club for an amazing year playing and living as a blue. Thank you to all the fantastic supporters, to my team mates and to the coach and his team.

At the same, I would like to thank Atlético de Madrid, who put in a lot of effort to bring me back to the club. Finally, thanks to the Atlético supporters who have showed me their love during the last year and especially these last few days.

Now I'm just thinking about joining the team and training as hard as I can to help Atlético de Madrid continue to make history.

Thank you all!

-Filipe Luis

It was a pretty good year, wasn't it? Best of luck back in Madrid, Filipe!
