According to AS, the deal to send Filipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid is now complete. The Spanish paper is claiming that a deal is done for the total of €16 million, just under what Chelsea paid to acquire the left back one year ago, and slightly more than the two clubs had reportedly agreed to just several days ago:
Filipe Luis returns to Atleti for 16 million euros.

If the figure is accurate, this was a good bit of business from the Blues. The biggest question mark about the Luis deal one year ago wasn't the player's ability, but the fee that Chelsea were paying for a player signing a three year contract, who would likely be showing signs of decline in the final two years of that deal. As it turns out, the Brazilian was simply a reasonably-priced one-year option for Jose Mourinho's title-winning side.
Luis' departure will force Chelsea to enter the market, though it sounds like a deal for 21-year Baba Rahman is close.
