I have not seen any actual video of Jose Mourinho's pre-match press conference for tomorrow's friendly against New York Red Bulls, but presumably he wasn't joking or being sarcastic when he confirmed that Filipe Luis will indeed be leaving the club soon.
"In this moment we need a left-back because I think we are selling Filipe Luis now or tomorrow. We need to go the market, we need to find a club that accepts a bid before 31 August, and we are going for a left-back."

Reports earlier in the day seemed to suggest that Atletico were having trouble coming up with the cash for the left back, even at a potentially reduced transfer fee and wage commitment.
Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal to buy back Filipe Luís for about £10.5 million, but the Spanish club need to sell Guilherme Siqueira, also a left back, to fund the deal. [Filipe] Luís [...] has offered to take a sizeable pay cut to ensure a permanent move.

While that fee is slightly less than what reports were quoting yesterday (even less than the €16m/£11.25m from Marca), all signs point to the deal getting done very soon, perhaps with a minor delay as Atletico search the couch cushions.
And now we wait for rumors of incoming left backs.
