Alan Pardew's Crytal Palace had been linked to a Chelsea striker for much of the summer transfer window. That striker was confirmed as staying at Chelsea earlier today. Fortunately for Pards, we have more strikers to give.
Breaking: Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford signing for Crystal Palace (one year loan) #cpfc
— Lee Clayton (@LeeClayton_) July 20, 2015
Bamford had been linked with quite a few Premier League clubs prior to this, while several in the Championship, including last season's loan destination Middlesbrough, were hoping to possibly snap him up as well. That he looks to be heading to the Premier League, just as we had hoped, is wonderful news.
The Championship Player of the Year will be looking to continue his steady goal-scoring record that has propelled him up the ranks from U21 to League One to Championship and now to Premier League football. Palace's other big signing of the summer, Yohan Cabaye, will no doubt help him in that quest.
