Several days ago, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Chelsea were on the verge of loaning Brazilian right back Wallace to Serie A side Carpi. On Monday morning, their website has some pictures of the player arriving at the airport, ahead of his medical with the Italian club.
Carpi will be the second Serie A side Wallace has been with since completing his transfer to Chelsea, having spent an absolutely awful season at Inter Milan instead of opting to join Vitesse Arnhem. Last season, Wallace moved to the Eredivisie side, apparently impressing enough to earn himself an Italian return.
Carpi aren't nearly as deep as Inter, so I find it hard to believe that Wallace won't get some time on the pitch this time around. Hopefully, he impresses early, and earns enough minutes that Chelsea fans can get a closer look at the former Fluminense player, giving us some idea of where he might fit in Chelsea's future plans.
