After two great seasons with Vitesse, Wulfert Cornelius "Marco" van Ginkel moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2013 with hopes of taking another step forward in his promising career. But after two seasons riddled with injuries that took him out of the pitch for more than a year combined, van Ginkel is setting sights on getting more minutes under his tally. But he knows how hard it'll be to have a spot open up in the current Chelsea squad.
For my development, it is crucial that next season I get a full year of play. The chances that this can happen at Chelsea already are small.

With this in mind, Marco van Ginkel seems to be on the radar of English clubs for yet another loan spell. After being linked with Newcastle a month ago, the newest club to join the race to get the young Dutch midfielder on loan is Sunderland, with Dick Advocaat's club having already made an approach according to reports in the Netherlands.
Van Ginkel's run of games after coming out of injury for Milan last season showed a bit of promise. Recovering from an ACL injury is never easy, and the player managed to play an important part with the team despite their own short-comings along with Filippo Inzaghi's disastrous command. It will be interesting to see him getting minutes in the Premier League. If Chelsea are still on his sights, it should be worth keeping a close eye on his development.
