Ranieri targeting another Chelsea player to reinforce Leicester City

Yesterday, we had rumours linking Chelsea midfielder Nathan Aké to Claudio Ranieri's Leicester City, mostly due to the Foxes failure in reaching an agreement with Esteban Cambiasso. And now, according to the Daily Mail, Ranieri also seems interested in getting Oriol Romeu on loan to his club for the oncoming season, with an eye toward making the deal permanent if the club manages to stay up.

The Mail claims that Leicester City has failed not only to extend Cambiasso's contract but also to acquire transfer targets on the market -- namely French midfielders N'Golo Kanté and Nampalys Mendy, who play for Ligue 1 sides Caen and Nice respectively.

Coming from famed Barcelona academy "La Masia", Oriol Romeu managed to get relevant playing time with Chelsea under André Villas-Boas in the 2011-12 season, as well as some minutes in the season after. But a crushing ACL injury in December 2012 staggered his development. Even though the defensive midfielder signed a new contract with Chelsea a year ago, he is looking for stability in his career at the moment and Leicester City might be a good place to provide what he wants.
