Reports regarding Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas re-joining Middlesbrough this season started a month ago after the Czech U21 international made a good impression for the side in the second half of last season. It eventually evolved into Kalas joining Middlesbrough's training camp in Marbella, Spain; and now, the move has been made official.

Last season, Tomas Kalas played as a right-back and as a centre-back for Aitor Karanka's side that only missed promotion to the Premier League in the Championship Play-Off finals. Some might have expected Kalas to move to a bigger club due to his performances, but it seems that the club and the player agreed that moving back to Middlesbrough was the right move to make.
That is one more player in our loan army that has set his destination. Best of luck to him.
