Cech still non-committal over Chelsea future

With Thibaut Courtois out injured, Petr Cech ended up featuring in both of Chelsea's post-season friendlies, helping to keep clean sheets in each of the 1-0 wins. Said wins, of course, might well be his last appearances as for the club -- having been supplanted as number one by Courtois, we've been hearing rumours for months that he'll be heading off to pastures new.

In the midst of the title celebrations, Cech told us that he'd head off with the squad to Australia and then take a vacation and think about his future. And he's not changing his tune now that we're done with the Australia bit.

I don’t know [where I'll be playing next season]. I’ve said many times that I will now fly back, join the national team and when the season is over obviously I will weigh my options and I will decide.

In other words, there's still no news. So this is an anti-news story, in a sense. Why report it? Because that means the hope is still alive. And I'd like to take as many chances to write about Petr as I can get if he does leave us this summer.
