There will come a day when Chelsea stop getting linked to just about every single player at Atletico Madrid. That day is not today.
"Arda intends to leave Spain this summer. He wants to leave to play in the Premier League."
"Talks are underway with three teams, for the moment I can't say their names. However, they are the best in English and European football. PSG is a possibility, although Arda has always had the desire to try England."
Those three teams are obviously Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool Accrington Stanley. Chances are, Arda will not be choosing to play alongside Josh Windass (son of Dean) at the Crown Ground, which leaves just the two Premier League teams. AC Milan were in it for a while, too, but their approach has been rebuffed due to a lack of European football. Depending on which of the many sources out there you believe, Chelsea are either favorites or losers in the race for the 28-year-old.
Arda Turan's current contract with Atletico runs through 2017, but manager Simeone was apparently not entirely pleased with the attacking midfielder's contributions this past season -- even though the two have a good relationship -- and might be willing to let him go for something less than his buyout, which is €41m (£29-30m). The agent claims that the next two weeks or so will be very "intense" as they figure out his client's future.
Could Arda fulfill our yearly quota of doing business with Atletico? Griezmann looks unlikely to move, despite the constant rumors, so perhaps we could get the bearded one instead.
