Falcao's move to Chelsea may involve more than just one player going on loan to Monaco

Before you get all shouty that it's yet another Falcao rumor, just remember, Silly Season bylaws only allow discussions of football rumors on days that end in 'y'.  Luckily for us, it's Saturday!

The Colombian striker is close to joining Mourinho's squad on a straight loan from Monaco, while prospect Pasalic could be heading to the French club also on a loan deal. Chelsea wants to avoid a set option to buy at €15 million for Pasalic as part of the deal.

Sources in Belgium think the prospect going to other way is Charly Musonda.  Di Marzio thinks the prospect "could be" Mario Pašalić.  I guess we can agree that we're probably sending a prospect (on loan).  Perhaps two.  Maybe it's both Musonda and Pašalić.

In a way, this reminds me of the David Luiz deal, which seemed to swing on Chelsea sending someone to Benfica in return.  That someone turned out to be Nemanja Matić of course, and while that whole thing ended up working out just fine for us — Champions League, plus €50m, and we got the final form of Matić back, too! — I'd rather we retain control of our most promising prospects, even while they're off to finishing school in some top level league on the continent.

In any case, another day closer to Falcao then, in all likelihood.
