Unlike last season, when Lewis Baker's tremendous effort was not only nominated but won the whole thing, there were no academy goals amongst the candidates for the official Chelsea Goal of the Season vote and award. For what it's worth, in our informal poll, "One of Kasey Palmer's" (it's tough to choose just one) did finish 7th.
Now, thanks to @EskWeston — a must-follow on Twitter if you're at all interested in the Chelsea youth teams — we have a video of the best goals from the youth teams over the past nine months. Yes, there are plenty of Kasey Palmer wonderstrikes in there, but he's hardly alone in producing individual efforts of utmost quality. And that's before we get to the team-moves that rival some of the first-team's best.
So, watch, admire, watch again, and vote. We may not have a fancy trophy to hand out, nor will we get up on stage and poke fun at our rivals with fancy PowerPoint presentations, but we can at least crown a winner in name. Plus, watching Chelsea score goals, at any level, never gets old.
