Chelsea have arrived safe and sound this morning in Bangkok to begin a brief two-match, two-country post-season tour. While the stop in Australia is the headliner, Chelsea always get a tremendous reception in Thailand, and this time is no different.
For whatever reason, Chelsea have not been very forthcoming with a complete list of players who've traveled. So let's try to piece one together. The official website lists the senior first-team players on the plane, as well as a few youngsters.
First-team players: Eden Hazard, Branislav Ivanović, John Terry, Nemanja Matić, Diego Costa, Petr Čech, César Azpilicueta, John Mikel Obi, Loïc Rémy
First-team youngsters: Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Izzy Brown, Nathan Aké, Andreas Christensen
Our Twitter friend @chelseayouth lists a few more players from the academy who were confirmed to be traveling.
Academy youngsters: Jamal Blackman, Mitchell Beeney, Ola Aina, Jake Clarke-Salter, Jay Dasilva, Jeremie Boga, Charlie Colkett, Jordan Houghton, Charly Musonda, Dominic Solanke
This makes 23, including three goalkeepers (Cech, Blackman, Beeney), which sounds like a good-sized contingent. First-team players missing in action include Filipe Luís, Willian, Juan Cuadrado (all three getting ready for the Copa America), Cesc Fàbregas (nose surgery), Oscar (hip injury), Kurt Zouma (knee injury), Ramires (recovering from illness), and Thibaut Courtois who's expecting the birth of his child.
Chelsea's game against Thailand All-Stars will be on Saturday, followed a Tuesday date against Sydney FC.
