One of the major themes emerging over the past few weeks, ever since we confirmed our Premier League title, has been Mourinho's constant desire to improve, to get better, to keep winning. We already knew this about the man of course, but it's nice to see that hunger, that winning mentality driving him on still.
And so, just as the Chelsea squad are dousing each other in champagne, Jose's already shifted his concerns to next season. It's not that he's not delighted with the title, but there's always more to do, more to win.
"I know our rivals are not going to accept this title and are going to fight to get the title. It’s a special league and there are three, four or five opponents who are going to try and beat us.
"If you are not better than the previous season you are not doing your job. I have to be better, these players have to be better.
"I am not saying the team has to be better, but maybe some fresh blood to put them a little bit under pressure."
Jose Mourinho; source: Get West London
This doesn't necessarily mean that there will be major changes. Cech and Drogba are already leaving and we're still one attacking midfielder short after we lost two and gained just one in January. Central midfield could use another option as well. Plenty of opportunity to bring in this "fresh blood" to challenge and drive us on to even greater heights.
Only 69 days until the start of the 2015-16 season!
