It had been far, far too long since Chelsea last won the Premier League. After taking three out of six between the 04/05 season and the double in 09/10, the Blues went four years without until this year. Which makes this moment just a little bit sweeter:
Winning the Premier League isn't nearly as difficult as claiming the Champions League trophy, but it's reflective of sustained excellent throughout a season rather than the combination of luck and quality which make for success in Europe. Being the best team in the country -- easily the best team in the country, no less -- is a great feeling, and nobody can argue that we've failed to deserve it.
There's room to improve next season, no doubt. But for now, let's spend a little savouring a rare moment to its fullest. It's been a very pleasant ride: Chelsea Football Club are Champions of England.
