Eden Hazard had started all 37 of Chelsea's Premier League games thus far this season, but the Belgian sounds like he won't be able to make it a full 38. 'Emergency surgery' is never a good thing to hear when you're talking about our star players, but as emergencies go getting your wisdom teeth removed ahead of a meaningless game isn't too bad.
The FWA twitter has the story, because Hazard had to cancel his date with them tonight:
Footballer of the Year Eden Hazard has had emergency dental surgery and will be unable to collect his award in person tonight.

He is deeply sorry to miss the awards dinner and hopes to be at Stamford Bridge on Sunday when the FWA will hand over the trophy

Hazard will almost certainly miss Chelsea’s final game against Sunderland - the first Premier League game he will have missed this season

If Hazard's had his surgery today Wednesday he'll be amusingly doped up for a little while, and I'd be tempted to play him against Sunderland anyway, mostly to see what happens when an elite footballer gets really hopped up on painkillers and tries to play football.
