Valencia's Andre Gomes denies Chelsea transfer speculation

Andre Gomes may live and play and work in warm and sunny Valencia, but when it comes to Chelsea, he's cold as ice.  And he's willing to sacrifice our potential love.  For the very real love he's getting in Valencia.

"I'm not worried about what the future holds. I am convinced that I will stay in Valencia because I am very happy here."

"I just think about spending the next season in Spain. Chelsea? I do not know anything and also my agent is not aware of any opportunity."

That's pretty fair, I suppose, considering since we're the ones cast in the role of annoyingly annoying PSG while Andre Gomes is playing the leading man, the local favorite, the hero wonderboy Eden Hazard.  As we learned before, Gomes also rejected Manchester United back in January, so it's hardly surprising that his immediate plans and desires for the future have not changed since.

As with all Spanish contracts, there is of course a release clause that we could always activate if we (or anybody else) wanted to swoop in on the talented midfielder and plunk down the rumored €50m.  But for now, given the fairly tenuous initial rumors and the very non-tenuous denials, plus the usual debates and considerations to keep in mind about Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Paul Pogba or even the new kid on the rumor block, Morgan Schneiderlin, Andre Gomes can probably be put on the back-burner.
