At this point, as far as we can tell, Chelsea's interest in either Southampton player is tenuous at best and hasn't really moved beyond the initial rumor stage.  Both could be sensible targets for us -- at the right price, of course -- and with Southampton openly admitting that they face a battle to keep either player's signature, if we wanted to, we could easily flex our muscles here.

For now, however, it sounds like nobody's flexing yet.

"We're still speaking with Clyney and his agent. We have to know in 10 days. He's very happy and of course there is some interest but nobody has really bid for the player."

Schneiderlin hurt his knee against Tottenham last Saturday and while scans revealed no major damage, the midfielder will still miss the rest of the season.  Many are thus saying he's played his last game for Saints.  Will his next one be in Chelsea Blue?  It wouldn't be the worst outcome...
